Jenny and Joel, both artists and retiring teachers from NYC, bought a house in Kingston and they both needed studio spaces.
For Jenny, there was an old, gutted carriage house from the 1930's in the back of the property. For Phase 1, the first floor was converted into a work space for painting, which involved a new foundation and concrete slab, a fair amount of structural work to update the building and the addition of a bathroom, utility sink and heat. For Joel, the attic of the house was converted into a workspace, utilizing the geometry of the space with all the roof angles to create an intresting and inspiring environment. |
