Liz and Dan's bathroom was completely gutted. A wall to the adjoining bedroom was removed to enlarge the bathroom. The existing window was removed and two Velux skylights were added. Floor to ceiling glass mosaic tile were installed, ceramic mosaic tiles on the floor, a floating reclaimed wood shelf was added, a sliding wood panel door with barn door hardware. The tub was from Waterworks and the sink and towel warmer were from Restoration Hardware.

Peter and Robert's bathroom in their rustic log cabin was in need of some updating. The bathroom was completely gutted. As is often the case with old rustic houses, the framing needed to be addressed and re enforced. All new plumbing from Roberto Plumbing and Heating Inc, new electric from Ressa Electric. A new casement window was installed. Painted rough sawn pine was used for the wall finish, cork flooring was installed, and a glass shower enclosure with subway tile and a teak floor insert. A hidden custom medicine cabinet was built into the wall and all new fixtures were installed.

Jean's bathroom was worn out and needed updating. She wanted the bathroom to have a spa like feel. Also her unique upstate home was built by an artist and most everything is one of a kind and handmade, so the renovation had to fit the house.
The bathroom was gutted. A wall was removed and replaced with an exposed rough sawn pine beam and post to enlarge the space. Floor to ceiling ceramic tile were installed around the whole bathroom. Ceramic mosaic floor tile was installed with electric radiant heat below. A spacious shower was created with a glass door and a small awning window to look out on her beloved garden. A custom vanity and storage cabinet made from hemlock "mushroom" wood was built and installed with a granite countertop. |
Brad and Michelle's bought a weekend home that would fall into the fixer upper category. The bathroom was completely gutted, which uncovered a variety of creative framing techniques that needed to be updated and redone. The existing rough sawn ceiling joists were left exposed for the aesthetic. A skylight was added for some natural light. The existing tub was removed and replaced with a nice size shower stall with ceramic wall tile, square mosaic floor tile and a built in niche.
The existing handmade vanity was painted and left for it's charm and had a bluestone countertop added. A custom rough sawn pine mirror with side lights was installed as was a built in cubby hole for towels. |
